HISTORIC TIMELINE

the roots that grew from the seeds that were sown

Rockford Association for Minority Management (RAMM) started in May 1980. The purpose of the organization was to correct the lack of diversity in Business Management. The mission of this non-profit organization has since been revised to address the need to invest resources in helping gifted minority high school students pursue a college education.

THE MISSION

To promote excellence in African American youth and professionals in the community by providing programs inclusive of diverse educational and cultural opportunities

Over the years, RAMM has gained the respect and support of the Rockford community in exceeding $1.2 million in scholarships for deserving African-American students. The annual RAMM Scholars Banquet, usually held in February, has become the largest scholarship fundraiser in the community. It draws approximately 800 attendees and showcases the community’s best and brightest minority students.
