Meet Frank Sanders

Frank Sanders is a high-tech industry veteran with close to 30 years’ experience and is recognized as one of the top and most influential African Americans in his field. He currently serves as Vice President Operations at Cisco Systems where he is responsible for strategic category and supplier management for a wide variety of outsourced goods and services representing ~$10B in business in support of critical products and operational capabilities. He also is accountable for Cisco’s responsible sourcing function including supplier diversity and environmental sustainability.
Prior to Cisco, Frank worked at Amazon leading the end-to-end supply chain for Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) datacenter capabilities globally covering hardware component sourcing, systems design, manufacturing, and logistics services.
Before AWS, Frank held a variety of technical and business leadership roles at Intel Corporation with his last role being Vice President, System Supply Chain and Technology Enabling where he was responsible for supporting the end-to-end supply chain for all boards and system level products for the corporation across over 21 different business groups. Frank was also executive sponsor for Intel’s Supplier Diversity Program where he drove an increase in business with diverse companies from $140M to >$1B over the course of 5 years.

Frank holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign, a master’s degree in manufacturing systems engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an MBA degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is also a graduate of the Stanford University Graduate School of Business Accelerated Leadership Program and the MIT Supply Chain Executive (CTL) Program. Diversity MBA Magazine recognized him among its Top 100 Under 50 Leaders. In addition, Frank is recognized as a distinguished engineering alumnus by the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He also served on the boards of the Boys and Girls clubs of the Valley in Phoenix, the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) and the Urban League of Portland and is also a sought-after advisor for semiconductor and other technology related companies. Personally, Frank resides in Arizona with his wife Prudence, an educator, along with their daughter Brooke and son Grant.
