RAMM Banquet 2010

Dear Friend of RAMM,

You are cordially invited to join the Rockford Association for Minority Management (RAMM) at our 29th Annual RAMM Scholars Banquet on Friday, February 26, 2010, at Cliffbreakers Riverside Resort, 700 West Riverside Boulevard in Rockford. Following a social hour at 6:00PM and dinner at 6:45PM, we will, once again, award scholarships to local African-American high school seniors who have shown exceptional leadership through academic achievement and community service.

Our speaker for the evening is Steve Perry, Ed.D., M.S.W., activist, educator and author, who was featured in CNN's documentary Black in America 2, as one of Black America's solutions to closing the education gap. From directing a grass roots organization in Chester, Pennsylvania, to a full scholarship at the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Work, back to his home town of Middletown, where he ran a homeless shelter, he became a candidate for state representative and published the first of his four books, all by the age of 26. You won't want to miss this evening with Dr. Steve Perry!

Since 1981, RAMM has awarded 485 scholarships, totaling $688,150. This program owes its success to the generous and continuous financial support for the scholarship fund from corporate and individual donors. We are endlessly grateful for the investments our supporters have made in the future of these positive young role models, who will one day be leaders in our community.
