To promote excellence in African American youth and professionals in the community by providing programs inclusive of diverse educational and cultural opportunities.

Awarded 485 scholarships since 1981...totaling over $650,000
On track to award $1 million by the year 2015

Of 485 scholars, approximately 80 percent graduated from college

Of the 80 percent, 20 percent have returned to the Rockford community
A number of these students are first generation college students
A number have returned to the Rockford community to help minority students who desire to excel
Professions/career: finance, health care, banking, legal, engineering, human service, education,
      medicine, and information technology
